Paved Roman Road
The Roman's were famous for there roads. You built them some well, that they are still around today! That's 2000 year old roads! The Roman empire had roads stretching all across Europe. It was the main way the Romans could move there trade goods, and armies. They could move there armies throughout Europe at an incredible pace, and if there were no roads, they would build them! A perk to having roads is being able to send messages very quickly throughout the empire. The one thing the Romans did not excel at was making there roads through obstacles, in many cases you can see roads going around a hill or lake.
There is a saying "All roads lead to Rome" This saying made sense when Rome was at it's peak as a civilization, because when the Romans captured a new town, they built a road connecting it straight to Rome.
